Cronje family update – Clearing weeds

Dear friends and family

What is life? Jesus is the giver of it, so therefore what we do here on earth must surely come from Him, and if we zoom out – out of our daily routines, struggles, goals, heartache, pain and discomforts and look at ourselves through His eyes, I think we will realize all that really matters is what you’ve spent your life doing and not all the “in betweens”. Are you allowing Him to shepherd your life?

We want to encourage you to look at your life and to persevere and run the race set before you.

In this last few months, our lives have really changed in so many ways, and we have been faced with so much pruning and it is such a beautiful journey…yes indeed the times that we are in can be pressing and even very difficult for everyone that strive after righteousness and wanting to stay on the narrow path, BUT remember the word says “But the one who endures and bears up [under suffering] to the end will be saved”. Our King is coming back and our reward is Jesus Christ. What an amazing Day to look forward to.

Clearing the weeds/bush often needs to be cleared several times, and if not cleared then the bush simply takes over again. BUT as we pull out the weeds it sometimes just so happens that we find a tomato plant or a beautiful flower that sprang up in between the weeds and so is our walk with Christ. There are many things that the Lord takes us through in life however if He doesn’t take out the weeds in our lives it can destroy our growth. Yes our hands and feet look terrible, however it’s trained and much stronger. Just like this, things might not look good on the outside, or in some cases you do look great on the outside or on a piece of paper, however that is not what Jesus is interested in (Matthew 23:25) what matters is a repented heart, a seeking heart, a heart of flesh and not stone.

The fruit that we want to see at the moment might not be as we would like it to be, BUT He has spoken to us to build something for His Kingdom that we might only see more fruit a lot later. BUT we need to hold on to what He said, we need to hold firm unto Jesus Christ and persevere.

There are many bad things happening in the world right now BUT if we focus on that we loose sight of our reward – Jesus Christ.

Matthew 13:24-30 – Jesus will seperate the weeds from the wheat.

We are so thankful for brothers and sisters that came to stay at the Base and can truly see how Jesus is doing a work in His body. They will also be staying whilst we make our way to Gauteng for a short while.

Be as Philip

Religion and tradition caries the same trademark since before Christ (in every culture). A heavy yoke that hinders His people from looking up but rather pulling them down, stuck in a tunnel vision of unreachable worldly perfection.

The Ethiopian man in Acts that was reading Isaiah could not understand who this silent Lamb was that was before His shearer. This Lamb that in humiliation had to go through suffering.

Maybe everyone was waiting for a mighty king like Saul or a wealthy king like king Hezekiah, even though scriptures like Zechariah says it so beautifully “Our King is comming, lowly and riding on a donkey”.

Today the system still teaches good morals like how to dress, talk and walk politely also to sing beautiful hymns. This is good I suppose, although in all of this I ofthen find myself wanting to walk up to a person, give them a big hug and lead them to Christ.

Could it be that today people are still looking for a king that is not king Jesus? A king that oppress instead of setting free? Jesus has come to set the captives free, free from worldly lusts and free from sin.

Do we truly know the King we serve? In Ephesians it talks about His followers that need to imitate Him. I suppose we should ask ourselves who do we imitate, Christ or the world? Jesus says that He wants us to be set apart.

The Holy Spirit leads and guides today and it does not always fit in or tick all the boxes of religion. I can just paint the picture of Philip when the Holy Spirit said to him that he must go near and overtake the Ethiopian’s chariot. Philip then actively responded by running to the ethiopian. This chapter says so much about the lively relationship He wants with all of us. This picture is too wonderful for me and gives me so much joy. Ofthen times my husband and I would not understand why we did some things whilst preaching or when making a decision, however one thing that we do know is that it does not have to make sense in a senseable way. If Jesus leads you with His Holy Spirit it can often times not be put in words. There is a peace and boldness that He gives and then we are always in amazement and even sometimes if we do not know, we can trust Him, lean on Him and rely on Him.

Now Philip understood that what the ethiopian was reading in Isaiah was about Jesus, and what did Philip do? He preached Jesus, the true Jesus. The Jesus that blead and died for our sins and rose again. Jesus who opposes the pridefull and gives grace to the humble.

As Philip and the ethiopian man went down the road the ethiopian said “here is water, what hinders me from getting baptized?” Philip baptized him and was caught up by the Spirit and was found in another place. This is the same Spirit, the Holy Spirit that is our helper for everyone that comes to Christ.

There are much more…
Which Jesus do you follow and serve?

Lets take off our shoes in a room full of stilettos and go sit with the sinners… thats where Jesus was.

Let the inside matter more than how pure we portray our words

When I speak a word of truth and revelation with all humility and kindness yet behind all that truth lies a little piece of bitterness or twisted intention, shut my lips Lord. If then I still am disobedient and the temptation to speak is too much, let me speak so that I may seem foolish to men in order for me to learn and listen.

However if my intention when speaking was out of an intention of love and still it came across confusing or that I am misunderstood, let me find peace when I lay my head to rest and reflect on the passing day, feeling dismayed about all the situations where I could have conveyed a better, clearer message. Let me find joy in the depth of my heart that Jesus You knew it was pure.

Come and analyze every part of my thoughts where it started and what my thinking process was before it ever came across my lips. And if that is pure in the sight of You Lord, let me rest in a deep warmth and intimacy that I could share in our secret place where its really only just You that know me.

Oh how joyful my heart now feel that You comfort me in the secret place of the heart where we can meet and where You have swept me of my feet. We are dancing our perfect dance to the melody Hosanna that I sing for You my King.

In Our place it is like a symphony of music to my ears, without any words getting in the way.

I love the beauty of the rawness we have. No impressive words or waiting game to see what the other person’s reaction is. Here in Our place when We meet there is no burden that I have to carry about the Moses at heart you created me as. I come with my messy story and Lord here I find Your grace to speak only after You have shown me the way and it overflows and pumps out love. Only after our last dance Lord as I step out approaching let me not ever do it alone but send out with me the Holy Spirit to share what You have taught me step by step perfectly choreographed.  Now, yes only now I shall boldly speak as I know the Holy King created and formed the living Word within me.
