33) 2 December 2023 – back to Gauteng
Preparing for Indonesia. Quieting before the Lord and listening for His ways and instructions. What to do in the waiting.
32) 4 November 2023 – Back to George (Carmel)
Another burst tyre on the caravan, this time right next to a tyre poster. God’s provision looks different every time. We had incredible fellowship, attended a disciple wedding and were challenged and learned a lot about taking hands with other organizations on a deeper level.
31) 9 September2023 – travels to Gauteng
We spent a evening in Carnarvon, 2 evenings in Kimberly and a week at Bloemhofdam. We had a burst tyre on the caravan again. Then made our way to Klipdraai Caravan Park where we spent 6 weeks in prayer, fasting, prayer with brethren and amazing, long awaited fellowship.
30) 5 August 2023 – Lambert’s Bay
We have the privilege to follow up after 2 years. We got to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ at both the Primary and High schools. Also had good fellowship and exhortation to the followers of Christ.
29) 8 July 2023 – Sutherland (Karoo Hemel)
Finally, we got to revisit and follow up on our family in Christ in Sutherland. My heart yearned to see them again. During our drive to Sutherland, it felt like going home. We found them well and grown in numbers and strength. We got a few opportunities to minister and it really was a blessed time in the cold and snow.
28) 25 March 2023 – George (Du Preez house & Carmel)
We Stayed at Tjaart’s for the school holidays with the Cronje family. They hosted a kickstart, and we were 21 people living together under one roof! After the holiday season, we moved to Carmel, where we stayed for the remainder of the time in George until God released us to move on.
27) 28 January 2023 (Jefferey’s Bay)
Moved from East London with a very sad farewell. Arrived at Jefferey’s in the rain. Already met mentors in Christ and looking forward to our work here!
26) 10 December (Wesbank, East-London)
Staying @ Lighthouse Ministries with the Cronje family, du Preez family, Nieman family, Bradley and Marc. Serving hand in hand with Pastor Danny.
25) 17 November (Oasis Caravan Park) Uvongo
First time pitching our new tent! We were also camping with the Cronje family, enjoying fellowship and preparing for Eastern Cape.
24) 17 October 2022 (Uvongo flat)
From Hibberdene, we moved into a flat in Uvongo and left our Home in Durban for some work (in desperate need of a tent that doesn’t turn into a waterfall during rainy reasons).
23) 17 September 2022 (Hibberdene)
The rain definitely slows the gospel, but it is a gentle reminder that God is in control. We met up with a wonderful family in Christ, Nick and Tracey. Exploring new ways to spread Jesus, we joined a local flea market.
22) 21 August 2022 (Drakensville)
Juane invited us to serve in the community of Winterton. It is amazing how God puts puzzles together and makes things work out for His glory! The first time we got to minister to a school.
21) 19 August 2022 (Newcastle)
We joined Adriaan & team for a kickstart weekend in Newcastle. Thank you to Liezle for opening their home to us all. God moved hearts, and we learned.
20) 17 June 2022 (Hazyview)
God prompted me to go back to Hazyview. It ended up being such a blessing, a time of grace and hidden from the cold (especially Bradley’s first tent winter). This time there were more open doors, and Bradley had a good taste of life as a full-time missionary. We also connected with family in Christ.
19) 4 June 2022 (Bela-Bela)
Follow-up visit with my cousin Rudi and his wife Reecie, who lovingly opened their home to us. It was a short visit due to circumstances, but we hope to meet again sometime in the future for more work in Bela-Bela.
18) 25 March 2022 (Ruimsig)
There was administration work to do in Joburg. Trevor and his family were so kind to open their property to us. It was an almost two-month stay filled with visits, blessings, fellowship and ministering with the Cronje family. Bradley also joined us when we left Joburg.
17) 21 – 25 March 2022 (Meyerton)
Elmi’s parents were so kind to take us in, not only providing us with accommodation but they helped with some much-needed spring cleaning and maintenance on the caravan while we were there.
16) 12 – 20 March 2022 (Gariepdam)
We planned a 5-day stay at Gariep Dam to break the travels into shorter bits to accommodate for work hours. We practised being fishermen.
15) 12 Maart 2022 (Graff-Reinet)
We overnight in Graff-Reinet at a dodgy, neglected campsite. We woke early to pouring rain, load-shedding & no water. Soaked through, we had an early start in travelling to Gariep with Elmi’s parents. Despite our circumstances, we were filled with the joy of the Lord!
14) 12 February 2022 (Mosselbaai)
As we left Karatara, we preemptively asked some friends to drive ahead if we needed another tow, which was precisely the case. After being towed out again, we had a short drive to Mosselbay, where we met up with Elmi’s parents for a month.
13) 29 January 2022 (Karatara)
The trip from Swellendam was mainly uneventful, aside from the last five or six kilometres, where we hit a gravel road, some of which was barely wide enough for one car, let alone two cars passing each other with a massive caravan trailing behind. If that wasn’t bad enough, the last 200 meters had a steep incline where we literally had to be towed out of to get to our destination in Karatara.
12) 29 December 2021 (Swellendam)
We left Sutherland with a heavy heart having very quickly grown very fond of the people there. It, however, seemed like we overstayed our welcome at the caravan park. Had this not been the case, we would have stayed another month, but so we made our way to Swellendam, arriving safely in this beautiful green landscape, quite the contrast to the desert-like landscapes of Sutherland.
11) 5 December 2021 (Sutherland)
Hitting the road leaving Langebaan in our rearview mirror, we made our way through the breathtaking mountain passes of the Cederberg into the Karoo, climbing more than 1500m in elevation and finally settling in Sutherland.
10) 4 October 2021 (Langebaan)
We finally found an affordable place in Langebaan and settled there.
9) 25-27 September 2021 (The du Preez’s house & Ou Skip)
Thanks to Tjaart and Charlene for opening their home to us in our time of need. After travelling the whole day, unable to find a place to stay, a warm bed was a much-appreciated comfort we did not think we’d have that night. We booked into Ouskip in Melkbosstrand to reevaluate and asked God to show us the way forward.
8) 1 August 2021 (Lambert’s Bay)
With Henri and Yolandi in Strandfontein, only one town from where we are in Lambert’s Bay, we’re covering some good ground for God’s Kingdom.
7) 3 & 4 July 2021 (Springbok)
We overnighted in Kathu and arrived in Springbok the following day to meet up with some good friends, Henri and Yolandi, and were later joined by Tjaart and Charlene.
6) 26 June 2021 (Roodepoort @ the van der Merwe’s home)
Some logistics required us to make a quick stop in Joburg, where we stayed with hospitable friends. We left prayerfully during the time the President locked Gauteng’s borders!
5) 30 May 2021 (Eiland Spa)
We then made our way to ATKV Eiland Spa, where we arrived early Sunday afternoon with plenty of time to set up Camp.
3) 29 May 2021 (Hazyview) & 4) (Hoedspruit)
We travelled through the Kruger National Park from Hazyview for an overnight visit to Hoedspruit. Some of Elmi’s extended family graciously provided us with space to unhitch for the night. Thank you, Melanie & Ludy, for opening your home to us.
2) 30 April 2021 (Badplaas)
We left Badplaas, and we were on our way; no GPS, no Maps, just going as the wind blows, and God led us through a familiar place just to show us He’s got this, and then brought us to rest in Hazyview.
1) 27 April 2021 (Goodbye Home)
God spoke to me in a dream, pointing us to Badplaas, and from there, He would take the wheel and lead us where we needed to go.
